SMMBC 130 Content Creation
We are at the halfway point in the Spring semester at BYU-I. Currently in this content creation class we have covered the following:
- Creativity
- Photography and the importance of taking quality photos
- Color
- Determining target audiences
- Ad creation
- Copyright
- Storytelling with video
- The impact of music
- Hashtags
- Logo design
- Infographics
- Captions
- Script writing
- Blogging
- And so much more!
My favorite topics covered so far was the photography portion. Being a visual person, I loved learning how to improve content since so much of social media is visual.
I have learned the value of being authentic is holding true to your core beliefs and values. Being authentic is being okay with who you are, your goals, and direction. When it comes to marketing, being authentic helps you stand out against competitors. Authenticity helps you to create genuine connections with your audience and building trust.
One of my favorite assignment was 3.4 photo ad creation. I enjoyed this because it was a fun way to be creative and display a product that a customer would want to buy. I used fresh spring colors, tulips, and a gingham background all of which speak to the target audience.
